God’s Presence and Approval   1 comment

Jno. 8, 29

1.  “That please him.”  Here, then, is the Christian’s highest ideal.  He can so live, but can not go beyond it.  If only he approve, all is well; without, nothing is well.

2.  “Sent me.”  Christ had a mission from God; so have we.  This my meat and drink.  Not self-willed, but submissive.  Not a recluse, but serving, helping others.  “I am among you as one that serveth.”

3.  “He is with me.”  I am not alone.  If we would find him let us do our duty.

God never forsakes one doing his will, but is with and near him.  Near him

(1) To guide us–we need it.

(2)  To aid graciously.

(3)  To approve our fidelity.

(4) Will reward us at rest.  No service will be forgotten.
