Mossy Bedrock   Leave a comment

At Ben Burton Park

creek water flows across bedrock,

cascading in a series of small waterfalls,

frequently over a bed

of moss greening the gray

rocks, keeping at bay

a localized,

monochrome reality

which, it is said,

does not provide a feast for the eyes.

—–

But the patches of moss,

well-watered islands of green

amid drab gray,

offer, it does seem,

a visual variety

of which some might say

one might feel inspired to write

a poem in praise thereof,

for the moss really is quite

a wonderful sight.
