Heb. 1, 1-2

1.  Man needs a revelation of God’s will.  If He has a will we need to know what it is lest we sin against it.  We can’t know each other’s mind till it is revealed or expressed:  how much more is it true of God’s will?

2.  Because of prejudice or personal interest or bias or preference man may think a thing is right when it is not.  He needs to be told by an wise, good, impartial mind what is right.

3.  To stop all quibbling it should be authoritative and final.  Men differ among themselves and one generation may reject much taught by the previous one.  Hence the need of a perfect revelation of final authority.  “My words shall not pass away.”  It should not be on a level with Emerson, Spencer & Darwin, else where is man’s yard stick?

4.  Such a revelation we have.  God has spoken and His word is law.  It demands recognition and obedience.  Grace is promised to help them who obey.

5.  It is so plain that all may obey it and live.  Spencer can be understood by only a few.  Jesus was heard gladly by the common people.

The Spirit reveals it to & in us till we know it.  To see spiritually is to know.

Accept this light from heaven, walk in it, and you shall find joy & peace & heaven.
