EDITOR’S COMMENT:

With this post I complete the process of posting my great-grandfather’s sermon outlines so far as I have them.  There were probably (and might remain) other notebooks of these, but I do not possess them.  Nevertheless, I have posted hundreds of his sermon outlines.  If, however, anyone with other notebooks of his sermon outlines wishes to send them to me, I will accept them gladly.

Jno. 12, 32

I.

His life on earth was related to and in behalf of man.  He was seeking him that He might save his.  His deeds were to this end.

II.

“If I be lifted up.”  This refers primarily to His death on the cross.  It reveals His great love as nothing else could.

But the story must be told till men everywhere shall know it.  Hence we are to tell it over and over.  What a privilege it is.

Lift Him up in our lives–illustrate in all we do the beauty of His grace.  Does the world see Jesus in you?

III.

Will draw, as a magnet, all men unto Himself.  Man cannot resist, but needs not [do so], and many will gladly yield.  No other message has such power to attract men.  The old, old story is ever new when told under the power of the [Holy] Spirit.

IV.

Let us resolve

(1)  To tell it to others–the child, the adult.

(2)  To help send others to tell it to those who cannot see.

(3)  To exalt Him in our daily lives.
