REGARDING MY POEMS

My high school years (1987-1991) were my peak period for writing poetry. This ought not to surprise anyone, for late adolescence seems to be time when many people compose poems of varying quality. Many of the poems from that period of my life will remain hidden away in my big binder, Poetry: The Collection, for reasons of amateurishness. Many others, however, will emerge from that notebook and find a home here before I am done, God willing, for they are of some merit, at least in my opinion. Some of them might reflect some annoying tendencies of adolescence, but that is par for the course. That younger self remains part of who I am; the teenager is the father to the man.
Over the years I have turned more toward prose. One can find much of that at my devotional blogs and at SUNDRY THOUGHTS, my original blog. Yet, from time to time, I still compose a poem. My work has become more mature; how can it not? And, looking back at my adolescent poems, I recognize that much of what was best about that young man remains alive in me.
May you, O reader, find at least some of my poems meritorious.
And thank you for visiting this corner of the Internet.
